Well-being and Support Spaces

Location: Committee Room 6 – the Silent Room

Throughout the three‑day conference, Committee Room 6 will serve as a Silent Room - a calm, supportive space for reflection, quiet work, or taking personal time away from the conference programme.
Please note that phone calls are not permitted in this room.

At designated times each day, the room will also host protected well‑being sessions, facilitated by Dr Elisabetta Cittadini, a senior adult psychotherapist, who will be present throughout the conference.

Daily Facilitated Support Sessions

One‑to‑One Drop‑In (Lunch Hour)

The one‑to‑one drop‑in sessions are available to participants who may find themselves experiencing strong or unexpected emotions in response to the conference content.

These confidential conversations provide an opportunity to:

  • reflect on personal experiences raised during the conference

  • feel heard and understood in a supportive setting

  • explore the wider context and meaning of emotional responses

Such dialogue can help participants better manage difficult feelings or situations. Where appropriate, Dr Cittadini can also signpost further sources of support beyond the conference.

Small Group Reflective Sessions (15:30 – 17:00)

These small‑group sessions are designed to offer a shared space for reflection and emotional processing related to the conference themes.

Group work can:

  • provide a supportive “container” for feelings through shared experience

  • foster live, affective learning connected to conference discussions

  • highlight our inherent social nature—both as a source of support and, at times, harm

This is particularly relevant when considering conference themes related to technology‑mediated relationships, such as online abuse, cyberbullying, and other forms of digitally enabled harm. Experiencing and reflecting within a group can deepen understanding of group dynamics and how social processes operate in both protective and potentially exploitative ways.
